Dr. Ted Sprinkle has spent more than four decades in veterinary medicine, first as a hands-on clinician and later as one of the people who shaped how veterinary care is delivered across the country.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. Sprinkle went to Cornell University to play football and left with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He began his career in mixed animal practice in Upstate New York. He then opened his own equine practice and spent nearly 20 years practicing equine medicine and surgery in a six-veterinarian practice.
In 1995, he founded Healthy Pet, one of the first groups to bring companion animal hospitals together, and grew it into a large network that was later acquired by VCA. In 2003, he founded Pet Partners and led it until its sale to Mars Veterinary Health in 2016. He stayed on for two more years as CEO of Pet Partners within Mars. In 2018, he founded Encore Vet Group and served as its CEO and Chairman until 2023. He remains an Executive Advisor to Encore.
Dr. Sprinkle joined Paws, Whiskers & Wags in 2025 as SVP of Veterinary Relations and continues in that role for Pet Meadow. There he works with veterinary partners to make sure families receive compassionate, trustworthy aftercare for their pets.
Outside of work, he has been actively involved with the American Red Cross for more than a decade and remains active in Thoroughbred racing. He is married, with four children and four grandchildren.
