Memorial Tribute for Sir Homer
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sir Homer, who lived a long, joyful life filled with love, adventure, good food, and plenty of sunshine. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Homer found his forever family when he was adopted in 2013. He spent his early years soaking up the California sunshine and living for one of his greatest passions: the dog park, where he could run, explore, and simply be the happy boy he was. When his person moved to Atlanta, Georgia, he made the loving choice to leave Homer with close friends back in LA, trusting he’d be cherished just the same – and he was. When those friends later relocated to Portland, Oregon, Homer happily went along, embarking on a whole new chapter of fresh sights, smells, and adventures in the Pacific Northwest. He spent several happy years in Portland, charming everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Then, in a twist worthy of a good story, life came full circle: his Portland family, ready for their own next chapter, entrusted Homer back into the care of his original person – this time reunited with him and his husband, who welcomed him home with open arms for good. Homer spent his golden years exactly as he deserved – with warm sun baths, a full belly, and a family who adored him. His later years were made especially delicious with freshly cooked chicken and steamed vegetables, although nothing could quite compare to his eternal love affair with peanut butter. At 15 years old, Sir Homer leaves behind a legacy measured not simply in years, but in the many hands and hearts that loved him along the way — countless moments of companionship, laughter, unconditional love, and the quiet comfort only a beloved dog can bring. He was a good boy. He was a very good boy. And he will be missed more than words can say. May there always be sunshine wherever you are, endless dog parks to explore, and an unlimited supply of peanut butter. Rest peacefully, Sir Homer. Your watch is over, good boy. Until we meet again.
