Minouche had been wandering the streets of University of Delaware in 2009 as an 8 month old kitten so I took her in and hid her in my dorm room till the end of the semester. To help convince my parents to let us keep her, I named her Minouche which was my dad’s cat’s name as a child growing up in Algeria. It’s French slang for “kitten”. She started looking a little fat once I took her home.. turned out she was a pregnant kitten! She had 5 kittens, 1 whom was kept by my sister and named Bubbles. Mina loved to eat, nap, and most importantly, explore outside (supervised) and lay outside in the sun. She was known and loved by the wonderful staff at West Trenton Animal Hospital… and known as a “spicy girl”. She had opinions, but she was uniquely bonded to me specifically. There were dark days in my life where the only thing that got me out of bed was feeding her. She was an anchor in my life for 16 years. From my father– thank you for being a part of our family. You were a joy to us and the greatest gift to you was your mama, who loves you forever.
