When we saw Albus’s picture on the Tabby’s Place adoption website, we knew we had to go see him. We were told that Albus was very bonded with his brother, Hagrid, and that it would be best to keep them together in a move to their next home. On the day we met them, we immediately knew we found the perfect additions to our family. Every morning, Albus would start the day by jumping up on the bed, making his way to the top of the pillows, and then sneaking down (not so carefully) into the sheets to sleep between us. He would give us bonks on the head and purr loudly until we got up to give him breakfast. Albus was always a bit more solitary and shy, so when he would come downstairs to spend time with us it would be all the more special. He preferred to spend his days looking out the window over the town from his cozy spot on his cat tree. He also loved blankets. If we laid out a soft blanket on the couch, you could almost guarantee Albus would be there claiming it as his own, making biscuits and stretching out into the most ridiculous positions on them. Albus would always be the one to instigate play time with his brother, Hagrid. Hagrid always won, but Albus would put up a fight and then go running upstairs hissing all the way. One of his favorite ways to play was to chase or be chased by us. Whenever he would be in an energetic mood, he would bolt across the main floor of the house to the base of the stairs, pause to look back at us, and then run upstairs and wait in the bedroom. Then I would sneak up the stairs after him and as soon as I got to the bedroom and he saw me, he would fly past me and run back downstairs. Albus passed away only 10 days after his brother Hagrid passed away, which was devastating for us, but fitting for him. He wanted to be by his brother’s side forever. Thank you, Albus. We love and miss you.
