Zsa Zsa Szipszky 6-16-2010 ~ 10-13-2023 Gotcha Day 8-19-2010

It literally breaks my heart to share with you that my precious baby Zsa Zsa went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday a little before 5:00 pm yesterday. I am grateful that I had taken a rare day off from work and was able to spend the day with her snuggled up on my lap.

Zsa Zsa was truly the best baby puppy you could ever want. She absolutely loved to play and loved her toys. Snoopy and Woodstock, given to her by my niece Jessica, Hedgy and her fluffy basketball were among her favorites. However, anyone who knew Zsa Zsa knew that her absolute favorite toy in the world was her squeaky basketball. Just like me, she loved her basketball! She was always up for a game and there were days where she would play as long as you were willing to throw…and even longer. Whenever I would come home she would excitedly greet me and then go get her ball to play.

Zsa Zsa was also my road warrior puppy, she loved going for rides and it didn’t matter where you were going. She especially loved trips to the park and road trips to South Carolina. On trips to South Carolina, because my baby girl was also on vacation, she enjoyed grilled chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A or a burger without the bun from Cookout (the place with 40 different milkshakes).

Road trips also meant new bones and treats, because you need good car snacks when you will be on the road for hours. Zsa Zsa loved her snacks! Because of tummy troubles as a puppy, she ate prescription dog food. We had to be careful with snacks but we found things that worked and that she loved. Baby carrots were a huge favorite but she’d drop those in a split second if she smelled watermelon. I also baked various dog biscuits for her which she loved. My baby girl was also a fan of the occasional pizza crust and loved her buttered popcorn (plain popcorn was always spit out). Zsa Zsa knew where her treats were and was willing to show you where they were kept. She would start spinning and when you finally got up she’d always stop to make sure you were following her so that she could get her desired treat.

Most know I believe that weekends are for big breakfasts and that always included my baby girl. More often than not I would always make bacon and eggs and Zsa Zsa was a fan! We both liked our eggs over easy with runny yolks, cooked in bacon grease, and bacon on the side. Zsa Zsa’s one guilty pleasure because of her tummy troubles. I think it’s going to be awhile before I make or eat bacon and eggs again, it just won’t be the same.

Like me, Zsa Zsa was also a fan of the top Division 1 school in the state, the Seton Hall Hall Pirates! Zsa Zsa proudly wore her Pirate gear and owned everything Seton Hall offered in her size. My girl was raised right.

Zsa Zsa was my ultimate snuggle puppy. If we weren’t playing she was either snuggled up next to me or curled up on my lap. She always enjoyed a good belly rub, ear scratch or full body puppy massage. At night she would sleep next to me either curled up behind my knees or stretched out along my back.

I am devastated and miss her so much already. Zsa Zsa truly was the best baby puppy on the planet and will never be forgotten. I can only hope that my mom was there to welcome Zsa Zsa to heaven at the Rainbow Bridge.

I could go on forever about my baby girl but I’ll end it here for now. Rest in peace my baby girl until we meet again. I love you forever and always Zsa Zsa! 🙏🏻🌈🐾💙🐶💙🐾🌈🙏🏻

Hug your furbabies a little tighter today and give them some extra snuggles.
