Brother 05/01/2019 – 01/24/2025

In Loving Memory of Brother 05/01/2019 – 01/24/2025 Today, we remember Brother—our beloved cat whose many names, including Ollie, Nana, Potatoe, Victor, Sterling, and Dalton, only begin to capture his vibrant personality. He was much more than a pet; he was a cherished family member. Rescued from an airshaft in a Brooklyn apartment building, Brother’s early days were filled with uncertainty. Yet, with warmth, love, and care from his human parents, Stephanie Gross and Michael Dalton, as well as his sister, Pocket Dalton, he flourished into an intelligent, kind, and loving companion. Together, we nurtured him—bottle-feeding him until he was strong enough to stand on his own. Brother’s spirit shone through in all that he did. He was playful, food-driven, and ever ready for cuddles. Whether greeting friends or strangers, his gentle nature and curious eyes brought joy to everyone he met. He even showed his resilience when he nearly lost an eye; thanks to the dedicated care of a wonderful vet, he fought back and kept his sight. He was also an adventurer at heart. Brother joined us on trips from New York City to Ohio, and often enjoyed gazing at the Brooklyn skyline from Sunset Park—a small moment that captured his wonder for the world. His passing on January 24th, 2025, was sudden and heartbreaking. Taken from us far too soon at the age of five, his memory will forever inspire us with his passion for life, his generous love, and his endless capacity for cuddles. We will always cherish the time we had with Brother. We love you, Brother, and your spirit will live on in our hearts.
