This wonderful Great Pyrenees spent her life watching over her beloved family and farm. As a livestock guardian dog, she took her duties seriously, preventing predators from encroaching on farm residents, supervising farm visitors, and warning the family of unannounced arrivals. She especially loved children and young animals, carefully guarding the goats as they delivered their offspring. In her older years, she could be found watching gently over the alpacas as they grazed and sleeping on the doormat, so we all had to step over her on the way in or out of the house. Her wise eyes lit up whenever any of her family caught her attention, and she loved ear rubs, scratches, and brushing. Even as old age after a lifetime of hard work caught up to her, Larunne watched over us all. We will never know a more loyal and fierce defender than Larunne. As steadfast as the mountain she was named for, we will forever be grateful for her memory.
