Pip was just awesome! He was my first dog and our little furbaby. (My wife had dogs growing up but Pip was her first one, where she was fully responsible for.)
We got him when he was 12 weeks old and being a shih tzu, he was tiny. That quickly changed and in little over a year he was 22 lbs. We would always joke, saying, he grew so big due to love and baths.
He had such character and attitude. He ran the house as I’m sure all shih tzus do. One thing he absolutely loved was playing fetch. He had 1 tennis ball that I had to fix multiple times but he would play fetch until he collapsed! He had such great coordination that he could catch the ball, in midair. Not very typical of a shih tzu either.
And he LOVED his outside! In the extreme cold and heat we would have to set a timer in order to bring him inside, in which he was not happy about. But on most days, he would spend hours just watching the world go by. And at times, would take his naps out there, too. He loved everything about outside.
I could go on and on but he was an amazing dog with an incredible personality. We miss him everyday but find joy in knowing he’s no longer suffering and is reunited with his favorite tennis ball.
