Hagrid

It is with great heartache and many tears that we are saying goodbye to Hagrid, our first pet, our first cat, and a beloved member of our family. Hagrid spent every day right by our side from the minute we woke up, to the minute we went to sleep. No matter what kind of day we were having, he was there to make it a little bit calmer, a little bit better, a little bit happier. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, especially the neighbors, who would see him sitting in the window as they walked past the house or in his cat stroller during his daily walks to the top of the hill. Hagrid had an opinion about everything. He would always let us know what he was thinking (it was usually “more treats!”). During his daily stroller walks, we would make our way to the top of the hill and enjoy the view for a few minutes. He would eventually look right up at us and meow to let us know he was ready to head back home. Hagrid’s favorite things were fresh ears of corn, chasing twine, sitting at the window and watching the world go by, costco rotisserie chicken, walks in his stroller, laying in the sunlight, terrorizing house plants, laying on his cat-blanket squares, bunny kicking things (primarily Albus) with his hind legs, and being pampered in general. It’s hard to imagine cooking dinner without him laying down in the middle of the kitchen floor waiting for the food to be done. When we would sit down to eat, we would have to scoot forward to the edge of our chairs to leave a space for him to jump up and lay down behind us. He brought a warmth to our house that will be impossible to replace. Hagrid leaves behind his brother, Albus, who misses him just as much as we do. We are all so incredibly grateful for the time we had with Hagrid and will remember him for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Hagrid. We love you.
