I met Rocky back in 2016. She decided to pop up one month before we were getting ready to temporarily move out while the house was being rebuilt. We tried not to get attached because we had to move and Pippy was not going to be okay with a second cat. But… She kept following me all the time. She would pop out as soon as I got off the bus stop the next street over and would follow me all the way home. While the house was being built she disappeared. We figured it was due to the house being built. When we came back we didn’t see her and assumed someone took her in or she was sadly gone. Then she popped up again. There was a person my mom knew from the old deli days who seemed interested in her. They stopped by to meet her and weirdly enough… She wouldn’t go near them. Time went on and it was late 2018 or early 2019 and we had a deep freeze. At first I tried to put her in the basement downstairs but she didn’t like it. I finally gave in and we took her as part of the family. Her and Pippy didn’t get a long at first.. but she would be hilarious and come to my room, where Pippy mainly stayed, and had the nerve to hiss in her face. She was comfortable from day one. Even when we had health workers come in for dad, she knew this was her home. We didn’t have her for her first ten years of life.. that was sadly someone else who never really cared. But we tried every second to make her feel like this was her home and family. Don’t go and find your sister up there and hiss at her! Take care of each other and one day… I hope she pray I see you both again. I love you, Rocky. Rest in peace, you crazy little girl.
