To know Shea was to love him. We rescued Shea 11 years ago from a shelter in Alabama. He changed our lives forever. He was called many nicknames – Shea Bay, Shea Shea, the OG, and Memee and was known to be “a gentle soul” and “adventure boy.” He possessed some of our best traits and none of our worst. He was a really special dog who taught us a lot about ourselves. He loved and was fiercely loyal to his pack of family and friends and made guarding us all his forever responsibility. He was such a polite and kindhearted dog who could communicate everything with his eyes. He lived for the outdoors – in any temperature and in any weather – beaches, meadows, mountains, rivers, and lakes. Vermont and LBI were his favorites. He loved camping and hiking – always insisting on leading the way. Shea loved being included and tagging along even if it was to just pick up a loaf of bread. Right up until the end, he was always up for a car ride to somewhere special. Shea crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday afternoon, January 3, leaving us far sooner than we ever expected. After being diagnosed with a hemangiocarcoma, we were blessed to enjoy 2+ months together to do all his favorite things in all his favorite places with all his favorite people. When the time came, we made the hardest decision ever to let Shea die peacefully. You are a legend, Shea. We miss you terribly buddy but I know we’ll meet again. Thank you for all your love and for the gift of being your dog dads. ???? ????
